Rubondo Island National Park
Rubondo area about 80% covered by a dense forest with variety of habitats for wildlife ranging from savannah, open woodland, papyrus swamps to dense forest inhabited with sitatunga, bushbucks, velvet monkeys, genet cats, spotted necked otters, hippopotamus and crocodiles which share ecological niches with introduced species as chimpanzees, elephants, giraffes, black and white colubus monkey, suni and african grey parrots.
Rubondo is famous by holding a variety of migratory birds from different parts of the world and some native to the area as emin pasha gulf and african fish eagle. Apart from wildlife species there are beautiful and attracting beaches for relaxation as Mchangani, Fly catcher and Michi coco beach. The area is reached through road and by charter air.
