Olmoti Crater is small crater located close to Ngorongoro crater with Munge waterfall, a source of Munge River the important water source in Ngorongoro crater. The olmoti crater reached from Nainokanoka gate near Nainokanoka the Maasai village and campsite.
Olmoti crater nestled within highland region at 3080m above sea level. The name Olmoti comes from Maasai language meaning a cooking pot. Olmoti crater floor covered with grassy suitable for grazers include Maasai cattle and wild animals. Munge River flows in crater surface form a beautiful waterfall in the area and important source of fresh water for wildlife in Ngorongoro area.
Olmoti crater is special place for short walking along crater rim forest with armed ranger due to availability of wild animals while long walking cover Embulbul depression, Salei plains up to Empakai and Natron.
