Mikumi National Park nestled between Morogoro and Iringa region. Mikumi National Park is among the destination with abundance of wildlife. Located approximately 300km from Dare es Salaam, the park cover 3230 square km of area.and nestling between the Uluguru Mountains to the east and the Rift Valley to the Southwest. Mikumi borders with selous, uluguru mountains forest and udzungwa mountains.
Among the best area in Mikumi is Mkata river flood plains with Miombo woodland vegetation and wild palm support high density of game species found in Mikumi. Being part of important wildlife ecosystem comprising the great selous reserve inhabited with huge population of buffaloes, elephants, zebra, giraffes, predators hippos, crocodile, warthog, wildebeest and bird species.
Mikumi offers best game viewing safari to the southern circuit with great chance to spot, crocodile, lion, cheetah, buffaloes, hyena, jackal, impala, etc.
